This is a raw edge appliqué method [batik fabrics will work very well for this technique]
Fabrics
For the block background and the block appliqué you will need ½ meter of a light and a dark for the table runner.
For the sashing and binding1/2 meter.[ you can choose a very dark or I used the same dark that I used for my block appliqué.]
For the border the pattern calls for a medium scale fabric ¼ meter.
¾ of a meter for the backing
Batting approximately 20’’x46’’
1 ¼ meters of Steam a seam 2 lite
½ a meter of tear away stabilizer
Thread for appliqué [I used a variegated]
You will also need fabric and paper scissors, a fine permanent marking pen, and your machine ready to go, plus your basic sewing kit.
A rotary cutter, medium size cutting mat and a ruler. We will be cutting 6 1/2" squares.
Finally a 6 ½ “square of clear template material and your appliqué pressing sheet if you have one.
See you on the 24th of March -set up 9 am class begins at 9:30 and runs until 3:00. Happy Quilting, Faye B.
